Our History
UCatchEm Guide Service is built on more than three decades of North Texas fishing tradition, beginning with the dedication and expertise of Jim Walling of Pilot Point. In the early 1990s, Jim became one of the first professional guides to offer Lake Ray Roberts fishing trips, specializing in largemouth bass, crappie, and the lake’s legendary white bass runs. His reputation for consistency, honesty, and deep knowledge of the lake made him a trusted name among anglers across the region.
For over 30 years, Jim refined the craft of guiding on Ray Roberts—learning every creek channel, brush pile, and seasonal pattern the lake had to offer. His passion for teaching and his commitment to helping anglers of all skill levels succeed became the foundation of what UCatchEm Guide Service is known for today.
As Jim approached retirement, he chose to pass his business—and his lifetime of experience—to someone who shared his values and his love for the water. That person was Justin Wilson, a dedicated North Texas angler who had spent years fishing both Lake Ray Roberts and Lake Texoma.
Under Justin’s leadership, UCatchEm has expanded its offerings while honoring Jim’s legacy. Today, the guide service provides:
-
White bass and catfish trips on Lake Ray Roberts
-
Striper fishing, catfish trips, and smallmouth bass trips on Lake Texoma
Justin continues to build on the knowledge Jim passed down, combining proven techniques with modern equipment and a customer‑focused approach. Whether it’s chasing schooling white bass on Ray Roberts or targeting trophy stripers and blue catfish on Texoma, UCatchEm remains committed to delivering the same high‑quality, memorable fishing experiences that Jim built his name on.
What began in the early ’90s as one man’s passion for guiding has grown into a multi‑lake operation serving anglers from across Texas and beyond. UCatchEm Guide Service proudly carries forward Jim Walling’s legacy—rooted in experience, strengthened by tradition, and driven by a love for the incredible fisheries of North Texas.
